Kababayan’s XXXII Pilipino American Culture Night It Runs in The Family: The Musical
14 weekly practices starting at the beginning of January, 4 Saturday practices from 8AM-5PM, and 4 consecutive days of Bren Week starting from 5PM-12AM, all leading up to this one night: April 15th. As tiring, stressful, frustrating, annoying, and long as these practices were, ALL of it was worth it. Everyone’s hard work definitely shined through in the show! I heard nothing but great things about this year’s PACN and I couldn’t have been any more happier with how it turned out! The story line was especially amazing, especially since it was a musical. My character in the story was the little sister of the main character, “Josh”. Although I didn’t have a lot of lines, I did have one VERY important line where I say the title of the show. I was hoping people would catch on when I said it……….. & they did! I loved it when I heard people say, “ooooooh!” right after my line :D
Along this process of memorizing lines, stage blocking, and portraying a character completely different from my own self, I enjoyed getting to know the other members of skit too. We all got to see different sides of each other through improv games, and we all experienced our characters grow from the very start. I feel honored to have shared the stage with these people, along with the other PACN cast members. All of us seriously KILLED IT on stage and I am SO SO SO happy with my decision of doing PACN this year. I am definitely doing it next year =)
